What Is a Tummy Tuck? Dr. Farkas Explains Abdominoplasty

Paramus New Jersey plastic surgeon Dr. Jordan P. Farkas, M.D. explains how abdominoplasty in Paramus NJ is performed and who is an ideal candidate for this plastic surgery procedure.

“Abdominoplasty is an excellent operation to get you optimal abdominal contour. The best patients for abdominoplasty are the ones that are fit and healthy and that have really worked on getting back their ideal body weight, however that may be. Ones that are on a diet and exercise routine regularly are the ones that will benefit the most from abdominoplasty.

Abdominoplasty involves removing the inferior portion of the abdominal skin and some of the subcutaneous tissue and fat as well, in order to really get that body contour tight till you head down to the lower incision that you have from hip to hip.

Abdominoplasty is not a good operation for people that are aggressively overweight, or that can probably lose that ten or fifteen pounds with diet and exercise, because what will happen is that as soon as you have a tummy tuck and then you lose that weight, you’re not going to get the ideal result that you could get if you were to have lost that weight pre-operatively. Hope to see you soon.”
