In this interview, New Jersey plastic surgeon Dr. Jordan P. Farkas talks about the benefits of laser skin resurfacing.

“Hi! laser skin resurfacing is an excellent treatment to help re-texturize your overall skin texture and tone. There are two different types that you can get laser resurfacing with, there is the carbon dioxide laser. Here at The Breslow Center in Paramus, New Jersey I choose to use Sciton Erbium laser.

Erbium laser helps to rejuvenate your skin texture by taking away the superficial damaged layer of skin that is exposed to the environment, second-hand smoke, sun damage, also the superficial lines that you get over time. It helps to actually build down the top layer of your skin, which is called the epidermis, and stimulate the collagen in the dermis which is the deeper layer to give you a more robust glow. It can help with some of the sun spots that are built into your skin, but obviously those pigment cells are still there in your skin and these spots can come back.

The laser skin surfacing modality is excellent for keeping up with your skin care regimen, and keeping your skin moisturized and protected against the sun. It will give you that more youthful glow.

Hope to see you soon!”
