New Jersey plastic surgeon Dr. Jordan P. Farkas, M.D. explains why facelift procedures and neck lifts are exceptionally effective facial rejuvenation procedures.

“Hi! I am Dr. Farkas from the Breslow Center, and I’m here to talk to you a little about face and neck lifts. Face and neck lifts are excellent procedures in order to help you rejuvenate your face. Your face ages with time and your face, like the rest of your body, is in layers. You have the outside envelope, which is your skin, and soft tissue that is deep in the skin as well as muscle and bone. All cause different changes to the architecture of your face with time, and each should be addressed separately.
A face lift operation involves an incision that comes around your ear and is hidden here, and towards the back of your ear and into your scalp. The face lift operation is excellent in strengthening your lower face, giving you a stronger jaw line, improving your neck, and potentially some of the bands and relapsed skin that happens here, as well as improving the mid-face volume that you may have.
Besides a face and neck operation, most of the patients benefit also from skin care. Things like laser resurfacing help give them rejuvenation to their overall skin texture.
The operation is done in the Surgery Center here – it’s fully accredited at the Breslow Center. Generally we have patients stay overnight with a private nurse to be sure that they are kept a very close eye on, and to make sure that they have no problems that need to be attended to.
The recovery for the face lift is actually one of the easier operations in plastic surgery, but you may be swollen for about three weeks. Sutures come out in a week or so, depending on how you are healing, and you really can go back to wearing makeup without having any problems after six weeks’ time.
Face and neck lift is not something that aims to make you different. All it does is enhance your current features and make you look more rested. The best cosmetic plastic surgery and aesthetic surgery is facial cosmetic surgery that you are not sure if the patient had any work done – not the over operated or done look.
