“Hi! It’s Dr. Farkas at The Breslow Center. I want to talk to you a little bit about liposuction and the technique we use at The Breslow Center in order to get you the best result we possibly can.

Dr. Breslow and I typically utilize a technique called Safe Liposuction, using a MicroAire Power-Assisted Liposuction tool with a basket cannula to help equalize the fat distribution. This helps build better body contouring and sloping, and really avoids contour deformities which can happen with some of the more gimmicky liposuction techniques like Smart Lipo or Laser-Assisted Lipo.

Liposuction is not a weight loss tool, so the most important thing to consider when you are planning to undergo liposuction is that you are really trying to be at your ideal body weight, not a starvation weight or an unrealistic expectation. If you’re not at the ideal weight, what will happen overtime is with a little bit of weight gain you will decrease your overall results, and also your body when it gains weight, it needs to gain weight in certain areas. So some of the fat which is left behind – which is obviously necessary for optimal body contour – can get larger in different areas.

If you do see some weight gain after a liposuction, it’s definitely going to cause a decrease in your overall result because your body has to respond to some of that weight gain, and will gain it in certain places. Your body may then gain it in the other places as opposed to the areas where you had the liposuction and contouring to, because those fat cells need to enlarge and extend in size in order to maintain some of what your body is doing to gain some of that weight.

Anyway, I hope to see you soon at The Breslow Center, and I hope that this information was helpful.”
