Contact the Breslow Center for Plastic Surgery about the cosmetic surgery procedures at our office in northern New Jersey.
Gynecomastia, or overdeveloped male breasts, is a very common condition and may affect one breast or both. For male patients who are self-conscious about their appearance, male breast reduction surgery performed by New Jersey cosmetic surgeon Gary D. Breslow can help.
During the male breast reduction procedure, Dr. Breslow removes fat, excess skin or glandular tissue from the breasts to form a chest that is flatter, firmer and better contoured. Dr. Breslow can achieve these goals with various male breast reduction techniques. The most common involves a small, semicircular incision around the areola, which is the darker skin surrounding the nipple. Through this technique, fat and breast tissue are removed under direct vision. Other male breast reduction techniques performed by Dr. Breslow rely more on the use of liposuction technology to remove the unwanted tissue. Dr. Breslow employs the male breast reduction technique that is appropriate for each patient; the technique chosen will depend on the patient's goals.
Dr. Breslow may recommend other procedures be performed in conjunction with male breast reduction to achieve the best results possible for the patient. Generally, this would include body contouring procedures such as liposuction, and possibly tummy tuck.
For some patients with gynecomastia, health insurance may pay some or all of the cost of the male breast reduction procedure. As a courtesy, the staff at our New Jersey office may contact the patient's insurance company to ascertain eligibility requirements. Dr. Breslow will also conduct a detailed physical examination and file all necessary claims with the insurance company. The Breslow Center For Plastic Surgery accepts most insurance plans, including Medicare.
