Facial Rejuvenation with Facelift
Destructive influences on the face such as sun exposure, weight fluctuation, and the natural aging process make skin loosen and sag, resulting in wrinkles and jowls. The traditional rhytidectomy, commonly known as a "facelift", is a surgical facial rejuvenation procedure available at our New Jersey practice. The facelift is designed to eliminate wrinkles and droopy, slackened skin to produce a younger, healthier, and more vital look.
We Customize the Facelift Procedure to Each Patient
For some patients the traditional facelift procedure, which entails removing excess skin and tightening the skin that remains, may be all that is necessary to achieve their facial rejuvenation goals. For these patients, the traditional facelift is what Dr. Breslow will often recommend at his New Jersey practice. But no two patients are the same, and the destructive influences on the face do not have the same effects on each patient. A traditional facelift, therefore, is not appropriate for every patient. As a result, newer facial rejuvenation techniques have been developed to target individual facial regions (neck, midface, upper face/brow) as well as the different anatomic facial depths (superficial plane, deep planes) in order to address the varied effects of the destructive influences on the face. Furthermore, "volume rejuvenation", a concept which asserts that a youthful, aesthetic appearance requires not only skin tightening, but also the repositioning and restoration of facial volume, has prompted the development of even more facial rejuvenation techniques.
