Brow Lift

Drooping brows and horizontal lines and furrows on the forehead can give a person a sad, angry, tired, and aged appearance. Browlift, or forehead lift, is a facial rejuvenation procedure that restores a more youthful, refreshed look to the area above the eyes. In performing a forehead lift, Dr. Breslow removes or alters those muscles and tissues that cause the furrowing or drooping. In doing so, he smoothes the forehead, raises the eyebrows, and minimizes frown lines, resulting in a more vibrant, aesthetic appearance.

The Browpexy vs. Traditional and Endoscopic Browlifts

Many plastic surgeons perform a browlift through either the conventional browlift method, in which the incision is at or above the hairline, or the endoscopic method, in which a miniature camera is inserted below the skin to help lift the skin and remove some of the underlying muscles causing the wrinkles. Although Dr. Breslow still utilizes these techniques in certain cases, he more often performs a browlift through a less traumatic “Browpexy” technique. This technique elevates the brow through the same incision used in upper eyelid surgery, as these two procedures are often performed at the same time. This avoids extra hairline incisions and unnecessary surgical trauma to the forehead, and yet provides the same effectiveness in brow elevation as the other techniques. Regardless of the technique used, browlifts are often combined with other facial rejuvenation treatments like eyelid surgery or facelift offered at our New Jersey practice, to give a smoother, more aesthetic overall look to the face.
